Peninsula Gear Company was born out of necessity—a necessity for a flag that would represent our little corner of the world. As you can see from our products, we are located in the heart of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Or Wisconsin.. Or Canada.. Or sometimes we don’t even exist!

Over the years, we have been all of the above on some map, in an ad, or in a news broadcast, but contrary to those images, we do exist and are the better half of Michigan. Well, at least in our opinion, and since this is our site, that’s all that matters!

It all started with a need for a flag that would represent our area, a flag that could be proudly flown on our flagpole. After some exhaustive searching, we came to the conclusion that there was just nothing out there, and that’s when the thought process started.

After a year or so of making some designs, we decided it was time to take this to the next stage. After some discussions with community members and getting a lot of positive feedback, it was time to get these flags out to the public. While we may only have a few designs available right now, we have more in the works and plan to continue developing more as time allows. For now, we are happy to start sharing our love for this area with everyone else.
